The Torrey Honors Institute has high standards for both morals and academics; if you are unable to meet these standards you may be placed on probation. The stated requirements of the Institute are those found in but not limited to, this handbook and the Biola Student Handbook.
Students on probation will meet weekly with the Torrey Academic Counselor for the purpose of setting goals for improvement, and accountability. At the end of the semester their progress will be re-evaluated by both their mentor and the Academic Counselor. If significant improvement is found, the student will be taken off probation. If more assistance is needed, the student may remain on probation an additional semester. Please be aware that being placed on probation is a serious affair, and receiving probation two semesters in a row is grounds for expulsion from the Institute.
