I have taught in the biological
sciences at Biola University since 1969. For most of those years I have been
privileged to be in charge of Biola's scanning electron microscope, in addition
to regular teaching. It has become more and more apparent to me over the years
that there is incredible design in all living things. Living things are complex
and orderly beyond what mere chance would bring about.
My desire in offering these scanning electron micrographs
for everyone to view is twofold. One is to provide an SEM educational
resource for all who are interested. Feel free to download the images
and use them. I only ask that you give reference to the source (e.g. to
this web site <http://people.biola.edu/faculty/paulk/index2.html>
and/or Biola University, etc.). I would also enjoy receiving an e-mail
from you telling of your use of the photos. <www.paul.kuld@biola.edu>
I thank you in advance for this courtesy.
My other goal is to display the obvious design
and beauty we can see in living things, that is especially observable
with the SEM. The observation of consistent design in nature indicates
that there must be a designer. It is strong evidence of an almighty, intelligent
creator God. My desire is that God, our creator, may be glorified through
the showing of these few glimpses of His creative handiwork. Enjoy the
photos, and exult our wonderful creator for the beauty, order and purpose
He has fashioned into His creations.
I believe in this wonderful God, and if you do
not, I invite you to consider the evidence. Please don't try to explain
away the obvious design and purpose that we see in living things, let
the evidence speak for itself. I also believe that this creator God cares
for His creation, and especially has compassion for people, who He created
to have a special relationship with Himself. However, God is holy, and
we can only expect to have fellowship with Him and everlasting life if
we are holy. Because God knew that we could never be holy on our own,
He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die in our place to pay for our sins.
The Bible says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have
everlasting life." (John 3:16) To appropriate this great gift of
salvation we must humble ourselves, admit that we are not perfect, and
ask this great creator God to forgive us through the atoning blood of
His precious Son Jesus Christ, and we will have a true hope for eternity.
May God bless you as you consider Him.
Sincerely,
Paul Kuld
