Graduation Requirements

Distance Learning:

The M.A. in Christian Apologetics is a 36-unit program that includes the following:

  1. Completing the required program of study:
    1. Core in Biblical Studies (8 units):
      • AP 521 Survey of Genesis - Malachi (3)
      • AP 522 Survey of Matthew - Revelation (3)
      • AP 529 Scripture: Authority, Canon and Criticism (2)
    2. Core in Christian Thought (8 units)
      • AP 510 Apologetics Research and Writing (1)
      • AP 541 Essential Christian Doctrine I (2)
      • AP 542 Essential Christian Doctrine II (2)
      • AP 550 Historical Theology (3)
    3. Apologetics Electives (17 units)
    4. Apologetic, Professional Studies or University Electives (3 units)
  2. Maintaining a 2.5 average with no grade below a C in all courses to be credited toward graduation. Students cannot graduate while on probation.
  3. Completing a minimum of 24 units in the degree program at Biola University. All degree components must be completed as graded courses. Students taking courses in the modular format are required to take a minimum of 20 units in residency (on Biola's campus).
  4. Completing the entire program in no more than five years.
