The Christian Apologetics Program at Biola University:
Truth Matters Conference
January 18-19, 2013
DEFEND YOUR FAITH WITH CONFIDENCE
This event will help equip you to make your case for Christ in a hostile world.
Isn't Christianity really about blind faith and mystery? That's certainly what we hear the world saying through every vehicle of the media. But it turns out to be the furthest thing from the truth.
In this fast-paced conference, some of the leaders in Christian thinking & philosophy show that Christianity is really all about knowledge! Join defenders of the faith, Craig Hazen, Mark Mittelberg, Mikel Del Rosario, Melissa Travis, and more for accessible apologetics training and discover practical ways to defend your faith with confidence.
Jesus said, you can "know the truth and the truth will set you free" (John 8:32). Come see how the very best scholarship and thinking in history, philosophy, science, and cultural studies point to the truth of the Christian worldview.
Craig Hazen is Professor of Comparative Religion and Christian Apologetics at Biola University and Director of the Christian Apologetics Program. He is the editor of the journal, Philosophia Christi and the author of the popular novel, Five Sacred Crossings. At Biola he was named the winner of the Fischer Award for Excellence, the highest faculty honor. Prof. Hazen has lectured around North America and Europe on Christianity among world religions, religion and science, and the evidence for the Resurrection. He has also lectured in the White House and on Capitol Hill.
Mark Mittelberg is a best-selling author and sought-after public speaker. He has authored The Questions Christians Hope No One Will Ask, the Becoming a Contagious Christian Training Course (with Bill Hybels and Mark's ministry partner, Lee Strobel), and The Unexpected Adventure, among many others. Mark served for many years as the evangelism director for both Willow Creek Community Church and the Willow Creek Association. Mark has a bachelor's degree in business, a Master's in Philosophy of Religion from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and recently received an Honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Southern Evangelical Seminary for his contributions to evangelism and apologetics.
Mikel Del Rosario helps Christians defend the faith with confidence. Mikel is an Apologetics Professor, Speaker and Trainer who specializes in making apologetics accessible to the local church. He's taught courses for Western Seminary and Biola University and he currently teaches Christian Apologetics at William Jessup University.
