Jane Huckaby, Director of Donor Programs at Open Door Ministries, was looking for some changes and inspiration in her career when she entered the Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership program at Biola University.

"My position required someone who could lead several departments in an international non-profit," Jane explained. "Leadership seminars and publications offered a few good suggestions, but I needed something that would dramatically raise my abilities and help me understand leadership to better serve those whom God had entrusted to me. I needed practical application."

The MOL at Biola University met Jane's needs.

"The caliber of professors is so impressive, " said Jane. "They bring their high quality Fortune 500 work experience into a Christian environment. I quickly began to see the greater potential of what I really could be doing at Open Doors, with the ultimate objective of honoring God always in clear focus."

Jane used Open Doors as the subject of her research project. The results were exciting.

"We restructured the organization to include a new division," Jane explained. "Plus, we discovered untapped resources that greatly improved the support we needed to strengthen persecuted Christians around the world."

Open Doors continued applying Jane's MOL suggestions. Several new and improved procedures were implemented which ensured greater compliance with state and federal guidelines. Not only that, professors' resources equipped her with suggestions provided tools and strategies for Open Doors to facilitate the greatest potential in each employee.

"The Communications courses provides powerful class assignments and practical application so that Open Doors representatives and I canmore effectively spread the message about the persecuted church," Jane continued.

"Biola is known and respected for its academic standing and biblical integration. My expectations were not only met, they were surpassed."
