Concurrent Enrollment
(Registering for Traditional Undergraduate Courses at Biola)
The BOLD Program offers a number of Bible and General Education (GE) course options. However, it is also possible to opt to take a traditional undergraduate course at Biola.
When considering this option, please keep in mind:
- You will be charged the current undergraduate tuition rate. [see the Biola University Catalog]
- A Petition for Concurrent Enrollment must be submitted. Please contact your Education Center.
As this is a complicated process, please work closely with your Education Center in negotiating this process.
Enrolling in a Traditional Undergraduate Course
A list of the traditional, semester-length undergraduate classes may be viewed by accessing Biola Portal at https://portal.biola.edu/portal and going to the Class Schedule.
To register:
- Use the Biola Catalog to determine the dates of the Registration period for the semester you wish to take class.
- Complete the Petition for Concurrent Enrollment form (available at your Education Center) and give it to your Academic Counselor. Please leave ample time for it to go to the Undergraduate Admissions Office. This must be done at least one-two weeks before you are scheduled to register, as there are several signatures that must obtained.
- Undergraduate Admissions will assemble a Registration Packet for you.
- Make sure that the course selected does not conflict with any required module courses during the same time period. If the course is designated as “signature required,” you must obtain a traditional undergraduate academic department signature. However, your Academic Counselor or Education Center may sign the bottom of your card as your advisor.
- Complete the Registration Card and other pertinent paperwork. You will most likely not have to complete all the information in the packet; confirm this with the Registration staff.
- Registration may take up to one hour to complete. Besides the tuition charges, there is no fee for this process.
For courses with high demand, undergraduate students will be given priority over Concurrent Enrollment students. For information on petitioning to get into courses that are listed as “closed,” please contact the Registrar's Office.
