Focused Area of Study for Liberal Studies Majors

Every candidate in the Liberal Studies, Elementary Education major is required to select an approved 12 unit focused area of study from the following: Biology, Early Childhood, Human Development, Intercultural Studies, Mathematics, Physical Education, Spanish, US History, Visual Arts, or World History.

The focused area of study allows the Liberal Studies, Elementary Education student to choose an approved area of interest and complete an in-depth study in that subject.  A focused area of study can broaden your career goals.  Examples include:  opportunities to participate in Biola study abroad programs, preparation in subject matter for single subject credentials, application for authorizations to teach in pre-schools and after school programs, and opportunities to add a minor to your Liberal Studies, Elementary Education major.  Please see an Education advisor for details.
