Program Requirements
To earn a California Preliminary Single Subject Teaching Credential as an undergraduate through Biola's Teacher Preparation Program, a student must complete:
- A 3-unit prerequisite course;
- 25 units of teacher preparation coursework; and
- Additional state-required exams and certification.

LEDU 301: Introduction to Teaching (3) – 25 fieldwork hours
Teacher Preparation Coursework
LEDU 330: Psychological Foundations of Education (3)
LEDU 425: Teaching Reading: Secondary (3) – 35 fieldwork hours
LEDU 341: Methods of Teaching Linguistically Diverse Students (3)
LEDU 435: Secondary Curriculum (4) – 60 fieldwork hours
LEDU 450 & 452: Secondary Student Teaching (12 units)
All teacher preparation courses must be completed with a grade of "C" or higher with the exception of Secondary Student Teaching, which must be completed with a grade of "B-" or higher. Overall, a 2.75 GPA must be maintained in the teacher preparation course sequence.
Exams
All exams must be passed prior to student teaching.

- U.S. Constitution (approved coursework or exam)

- State-Approved Program or CSET Examination
