Philip Taylor has a Bachelor of Arts from California State University Fullerton in history, a Masters of Divinity (M.Div.), and a Master in Theology (Th.M.) from Biola's Talbot School of Theology. For ten years he was on pastoral staff at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley where he was the dean of the Logos Bible Institute. Following that he was Chairman of the Christian Education Department at The Masters College. For ten years he was an administrator and taught middle school at Trinity Christian School in Sunland, California. He briefly taught at Village Christian High School in Sun Valley before coming to Biola University in 2002. For five years he was an Adjunct Professor at Biola University's Talbot School of Theology and supervised secondary student teachers for the School of Education. In 2008, he became an Assistant Professor in the School of Education where he teaches the Biblical integration courses. He has been married for 34 years to his wife Deborah who is also an Assistant Professor in Biola's School of Education. Together they have three married sons. Phil's research interests include the historical background of the Gospels and Jewish cultural perspectives as they impact our understanding of the Gospels.
