- Fill out the FAFSA. This is the starting point for determining all financial aid. The FAFSA is available in December of each year and should be submitted as early as possible after January 1. Completing the FAFSA does not obligate you to take out a loan. Priority deadline to file is March 1. Biola University and the school code (001122) should be included on the appropriate sections.
- Submit completed application (online or download PDF) and accompanying forms with $45 application fee.
- Submit three letters of reference on forms supplied by the school. Applicants should provide one reference form to a pastor, one to a professor or character reference and one to a present or former employer. Forms should not be given to relatives.
- Submit a 750-word essay describing your spiritual journey, educational experience and personal and professional goals.
- Forward official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. If you are enrolled at the time application is filed, be sure to request transcripts of work you have finished to date and final transcripts upon completion of your course of study. Transcripts must be official and mailed directly from your college or university in a sealed envelope to the Office of Graduate Admissions.
- Submit a copy of passing scores on the CBEST.
- If seeking to earn a teaching credential, or a combined credential and M.A.Ed. or M.A.T., verify possession of a Certificate of Clearance from the California Commission on Teaching Credentialing.
- If seeking to earn a teaching credential, or a combined credential and M.A.Ed. or M.A.T., submit subject matter verification or required CSET passage information as outlined in the admissions requirements.
- If seeking to earn an M.A.Ed. submit a copy of credential(s) or equivalent.
Applications will be accepted without exam scores and references. However, you must turn in proof of registration for CBEST and CSET with your application and keep Graduate Admissions informed of progress with the references and exam results.
