Advisors are assigned by the Art Office staff. An appointment notebook is kept at the Reception Desk in the Art Office and students may come in Mon-Fri, 10:00am-4:00pm, and sign up to see their Advisor. We are happy to tell them who their Advisor is if they are not aware.
Biblical Studies

Each professor is assigned a list of students to advise. Most Biblical Studies advisors have switched to online office hours. You may set up a student account at http://wisdom.biola.edu/admin/OfficeHoursBiblicalStudies/ by clicking on “First Time Student Registration” and creating a username and password. You may click on the name of your advisor and reserve a green space of available time. If your advisor does not have online office hours, email him/her or sign up on his/her door for an appointment. If you’re a lower division student, you can check her office hours and sign up with Kenea right outside of her office. Her office is in Room 115 in the Business Building. When you have completed the lower division requirements and are accepted into the program, Kenea will typically send you an acceptance letter indicating who your new advisor is.

Education — Teaching Preparation Program

If you are interested in becoming an elementary or secondary teacher, please call the School of Education at x4843 to schedule an appointment with Melinda Soto or Jamie Stunkard. If you are a current undergraduate in the Liberal Studies major, an advisor will be assigned to you during First Year Seminar or LEDU 301 Introduction to Teaching class.
Students who have other academic majors will need to meet with an advisor in their major department as well as an advisor in the School of Education.

The students will receive an email from their advisor stating the way the advisor would like to set up appointments. Kinesiology, Health, & PE

Dr. Apkarian teaches a FYS class and requires all students who want to declare kinesiology major to meet with him. While students aren’t systematically reminded to make advising appointments, they are reminded in class.

Dr. Walt Stangl advises incoming math majors and those in the secondary education concentration. To make an appointment, go to the office and set up an appointment with Marty. Joseph DiMuro advises general math majors and computer science. Jason Wilson advises applied math students.

The department assigns students to advisors by equal distribution; they are flexible about who is assigned to whom and students may request which professor they would like to be their advisor.
